Many Thanks: Inktober 2019

When I was a kid, I didn’t draw fanart. I had somehow got it into my head that I’d be charged with copyright infringement and dragged off to kid jail if I drew anything that didn’t come directly from my own noggin. In recent years, I’ve found making fanart to be a wonderful way to wind down and de-stress. I love spending time capturing the expressions and mannerisms of my favorite characters; it allows me to live in their worlds again and to remember what I like most about their stories. My theme for this Inktober encapsulates both my new-found appreciation for drawing fanart and my love of characters and stories that have inspired me creatively in recent years.
